2024 is shaping up to be an incredible year where NikoHealth customers are leveraging more and more functionality to enable better business outcomes.

What’s New? 

Management Redesign 

• In this release we went ahead and gave the management page a facelift. You will notice that within the management page we introduced new categories, renamed existing ones and reorganized access to different  sections according to the logical related system functionality.

New Permissions 

• We added the ability to get even more granular with how permissions are managed for your teams. Within user and user roles permissions, you can now give access to certain areas of the management page of the application without giving users access to everything. Learn More

Updated Patient Financial Page 

When accessing the financial page within a patient record, a new unapplied payments button is now available. Payments that are posted against invoices will appear on the payments page while unapplied payments on an account will appear under the unapplied payments section. Previously, unapplied payments were located under the payments page.

Sales Rep Selection on an Order 

The sales rep if assigned to a referring provider has traditionally auto populated on an order. While this automation makes life easier, in certain cases a sales rep may need to be modified for a specific order. With this enhancement you can now manually add or edit the sales rep associated with an order.

Tweaks and Updates 

• Updated most recent available HCPCS library.
• Removed a legacy add inventory functionality from the product catalog.
• The deposit report and deposit functionality has been updated to reflect the sum of the payments within the deposit removing any PLB adjustments from the total deposit amount calculation.
• Review required hold logic has been updated to no longer put invoices in a review required status when the service line quantity submitted is equal to 1.
• Corrected a validation error when receiving items against purchase orders in certain cases of serialized products.
• Addressed an inconsistent font size when printing a CMS1500.

API Updates

• A new Management/Users API has been added. This GET/v1/users/list endpoint allows you to return users in NikoHealth.

Billing Provider Updates 

• Ability to add a Pay-To Provider Address Learn More

Workflow Enhancements for Tasks

• With the newly updated task functionality you can now add or edit an open task from the Orders page without having to navigate into the order details. Simply click on the drop down arrow available in the Tasks column of the orders page. Learn More
• When navigating to the Tasks within a patient record, order, or invoice the task status will default to open tasks.

Patient Creation Update

• When creating a new patient, an information popup has been added to notify the user if the system has identified a possible duplicate patient record. This will allow the user to determine if a new patient in fact needs to be created or whether the record may already exist.

Documents Improvements

• Attaching a document to an order has been improved to allow you to search for all available documents that are uploaded to a patient record along with the ability to add multiple files at once. Learn More
• Within the Documents page of a patient record, the design of the preview and edit action buttons on each available document have been updated. The functionality to download a document has been added to simplify the user interaction.

Inbox Improvements

• A new advanced filter search has been added to the inbox when attaching incoming files via fax. This will allow for a user to search by a Date of Birth, or Patient ID.

API Updates 

• Order Quik Ship APIs are now available. These APIs allow for the ability to ship or dropship an order from a Client App. Learn More
• The GET/v1/invoices{id} API now returns FirstSubmittedOn and LastSubmittedOn information.
• “AllowDuplicate” functionality has been added to the  POST/v1/patients API to allow a Client App to create a duplicate patient record if needed.
• The Order note create endpoint v1/orders{orderid}/notes has been updated to return a corrected description in Swagger.

Advanced Filters on the Invoice Page 

• The ability to search Invoice Tags with And/or filters is now available on the Invoice page.

Change Healthcare has notified us that network issues impacting real-time insurance eligibility have been restored.

CMS added 3 new modifiers for home oxygen use under :national coverage determination (NCD) 240.2 to indicate the appropriate treatment regimen and presence of supporting documentation for each Medicare patient group:

• Section B, Group I: modifier N1
• Section B, Group II: modifier N2
• Section D, Group III: modifier N3

The 3 new modifiers for home oxygen use are effective on claims related to equipment setup after the effective date of April 1st, 2023. For rental claims related to equipment setup prior to the effective date, DME MACs will continue to accept the KX modifier.
